This Thursday, we spent time imagining our research projects in a creative way by generating graphical abstracts. Students took time to brainstorm the crux of their projects and brought this to life on their canvas. We showcased our range as scientists while taking a dive into our artistic side. This activity allowed us to evaluate our projects and boil down our research aims, thesis, and experiments into a representative image. Graphical abstracts are becoming an increasingly popular method of distributing scientific content as it is easy to evaluate the take home message at a quick glance.
Additionally, we spent time with Tanya Whitehouse in an activity that called back to our Global Gardens sessions from our previous weeks. In this portion of the activity, we discussed how to use our regional plants as a food connection. We created delicious recipes (listed below) to better understand another aspect of cultural medicine and connection. This was a delicious session and very inspiring for incorporating more cultural elements into our lives.
